In 1990 I was unwell with glandular fever and unable to paint or do any artwork.

One day I sat down with pencil and paper and started doodling… just letting my mind go….

Patterns began to emerge on  my pages ……  I had no idea where or how they came to be .. but surprisingly my health started to improve.

So each day I would spend about an hour on a single drawing and it became a form of meditation for me.

A friend said she thought they were ‘mandalas.’  I had never heard of the word before.

In that time there was very little information around. I only found the work of Carl Jung and the Sand Mandalas of the Tibetan Buddhist monks.

( Unlike today where mandala art can be found everywhere )

So this became my ‘daily meditation practice.’

In 2000 I began a three year ‘journey’ working on a large wall-hanging.
